"I moved from Harborne 2 years ago but my son still lives in Birmingham. I feel very strongly about keeping a swimming pool in Harborne.
I learnt to swim in Harborne Baths. My children learnt to swim in Harborne Baths. All the local schools use the pool for lessons. It's the one place that all the family can go to. Older children and teenagers can go on there own and swim after school and the holidays.
The Adults only swimming time is important to keep people fit. Its a local facility for local people.

How many more reason do you need to replace this facility for the people of Harborne and surrounding areas"

"I live in Frankley Terrace which is adjacent to the swimming baths and I use the baths regularly. Every time I use them there are numerous other swimmers and the gym is also heavily used. Given that this is a local baths used by the elderly, mothers, workers, children... it is important to keep as in most cases this is the only exercise people get. To remove the baths and the opportunity for people to exercise in a cost effective way would be irresponsible and damaging to the community. Given the headlines on this mornings Birmingham Post I would question the wisdom of closing baths to build one big one, most people from this side of the city would not wish to travel that distance from home just for a swim."

"I have 3 children - 4,3 and 1yr old.
I started swimming late in life and consequently do not have the confidence in water I should have.
I now take my three children to Harborne baths EVERY week.
Redevelopment of the baths in an increasing residential area must surely be a priority."
